«Four Directions»: testing an idea
On this small cedar tree, I brought an image from my head into wood. In doing so, I wanted to find out whether the idea could also be realised on a large scale: several people side by side as a band around a large tree. It’s much easier on a small scale; I can easily move the wood higher and lower and work on it from all sides.
In large scale, the idea would have to be adapted a lot. Maybe I’ll try it one day…
«Four Directions» had its first appearance in the lobby of the Hotel Saratz Pontresina, where I am showing my works until April 2024.
